Aiva enables hands-free calling between Alexa and Microsoft Teams.

Leverage Alexa with Microsoft Teams Calling

Aiva has integrated with Microsoft Teams to bring the power of hands-free voice to your hospital by enabling Alexa-triggered calling to and from a Microsoft Teams client. UCaaS capabilities include Microsoft Teams Calling with PSTN and Direct Routing (SIP). This makes it easy for patients and clinicians to stay in closer communication.

Clinician-to-patient

Microsoft Teams client users can call the Alexa device in a patient room.  Patients can answer just using their voice.

Clinician-to-clinician

Clinicians in a patient room can place a hands-free call to a colleague’s Microsoft Teams client.

Aiva-Microsoft Teams Setup

Clinician to Patient (Calling from Microsoft Teams to Aiva)

1. Create a Contacts book entry in Microsoft Teams to call a pre-assigned 10-digit number with extension and an optional pin, assigned to the Aiva managed Alexa device in a particular location (example Room 105)

2. Place a call from Microsoft Teams client by clicking on the call button in the Contact entry and the Microsoft Teams PSTN call will then be routed to the Aiva managed Alexa device assigned to that extension in the Aiva configuration console.

Clinical to Clinician (Calling from Aiva to Microsoft Teams)

1. Configure an outbound Address book contact (example: Charge Nurse) in the Aiva configuration console for a Microsoft Teams user with their PSTN number.

2. Placing a call from Aiva-managed Alexa with that name will route the call to the Microsoft Teams user with that PSTN number.
