Director of Nursing Informatics

Aiva, the leading voice platform for healthcare, is seeking a Nursing Director to help further our mission:  reducing nurses’ administration burden to improve their wellbeing and patient outcomes.

Aiva’s AI-powered Nurse Assistant mobile app lets nurses use conversational voice and text for ambient documentation, setting reminders and controlling systems including work orders, dietary, interpreter services, policies & procedures and smart devices like TVs, lights, blinds and thermostats.  Clients like Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and BayCare Health have publicized their Aiva deployments across media (BayCare TV spot) and industry organizations (Cedars-Sinai AMIA webinar, Becker’s article).  For example, Cedars-Sinai reports 80% faster documentation, 50% lower incidental OT, 37% higher patient satisfaction scores – and 67% of nurses saying they don’t just like the app they actually enjoy using it.

The Nursing Director will serve as a critical internal and external resource, helping design and test our app while interacting with health systems before, during and after deployment.  Nurse Assistant has been built with heavy input from our nursing clients and from our own internal clinical leadership, and our secret sauce is listening to our end users.

Specific duties include:

• Assisting health system clients implement and optimize Nurse Assistant, including some on-site support.
• Meeting with nursing leadership and other client stakeholders during the sales process.
• Leading training and train-the-trainer sessions.
• Providing expertise to inform product design.
• Helping test new functionality and features.
• Representing Aiva at selected industry events.
• Helping define and monitor utilization and efficacy metics.
• Contribute to and help present articles and research about Nurse Assistant.

This position will be remote, but we are based in Los Angeles and like to get the team together at least a couple times per year.  We can cover the cost of a standard shared workspace like WeWork, if that’s important.  You could expect to travel at least a few days per month to industry events or client sites.

Background and skills we’re looking for:

• At least a few years as an inpatient nurse or nursing leader.
• Experience in Nursing Informatics is a huge plus, as we work very closely with that role.
• Training experience is key – both developing materials/curriculum and doing the actual training.
• Strong writing and presentation skills (both in-person and over video).
• Strong analytic skills, such as interpreting data and working in Excel/Sheets.
• Enthusiasm for chipping in however and wherever possible to help clients and teammates.
• Experience at a software company is a plus but not a requirement.
